northwave shoes: to serve and protect
do you have these kind of shoes?
I bought these very ubiquitous and very everywhere North Wave shoes around 2004, and am still wearing it till now. These are quiet heavy shoes, with attached cleats and offroad look, kind of nice and very durable.
It still looks good today, to serve and protect, wears and tears a little bit, but the sole is still there just like 4 years ago. If I’m not wrong, bought these around Rp 145 000 from a fellow mtber. And its worth every penny.
I don’t know if these shoes still available at stores. I believe it’s an export spill outs. We need more of these kind of things, things that are useful, affordable and durable, and…made in Indonesia.
I can spot on other goods that fit into that categories:
1. Outdoor Gear hydration pack
2. Our lovely Schwalbe tires
3. optimist frame
Anything else?

cijeruk
Theres an alternative route if we want to ride to Lembang from Bandung. Instead or taking the asphalt road from jl setiabudhi, we can turn right at cipaku residence and take the cijengkol route. This route is more interesting because we can still have the short offroad track which is actually a private unused land. At the end of this track we will find a village road up until jl cijeruk lembang.
Jalan cijeruk which is situated near pasar Lembang itself is a unique road. This narrow and short road have a lot of interesting spot for tourisme.
Things we can do there:
1. Eat at the La Oma restaurant for a fancy lunch after riding
2. Go to the famous Tahu Tauhid for some take away tofus for our lovables at home
3. Buy some famous popsicles (es potong)in various taste to freshens our throat. If we do take away they will wrap our stick ice with newspaper sheets.
4. buy some cow or soy milk behind the pasar lembang at the end of the cijeruk road.
5. watch what other people’s do for their hobby. Theres a circuit for remote model offroad car. Its kind of nice with raised platform for spectators and plenty of park space.
Happy riding!

Specialized recalls 2D helmet
Specialized 2D helmet in US recalled voluntarily due to failed on required testing for safety standard. In bikeradar verdict this helmet described as a "Fantastic lightweight performance... but it comes with a hefty price like its competitors." and as Specialized reckon it's the lightest helmet in the world.
heres the complete news from BikeRadar
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Specialized Bicycles, today announced a voluntary recall of the Specialized 2D helmet. Consumers in the US should stop using the recalled helmet immediately unless otherwise instructed. This advice does not apply to helmets bought in the UK as these were built in a different batch.
According to Specialized and the CPSC, although no incidents or injuries have been reported, the China-made 2D helmets fail testing required under CPSC's safety standard for bicycle helmets. This can pose a head injury hazard to riders in a fall. About 3,000 helmets are affected by this recall.
This recall only applies to 2D helmets in the U.S. and Canada; all helmets in Europe and Australia are still certified to CE and AUS standards and will remain unaffected by the recall. There have been no reported cases of failure or injury in any region.
As shown in the photo, the model "2D" is printed on the sides of the helmet in the rear. The helmets were sold for men and women in matte black, white, silver, blue, pink, and team colors, through its authorized retailers and online stores between July 2007 and October 2007 for about US$200.
According to the CPSC, consumers should stop using the recalled helmet immediately and return it to an Authorized Specialized Retailer.
Specialized is currently replacing all affected helmets with a complimentary Specialized Decibel helmet until new helmet shipments arrive in January. Consumers affected by the recall can then expect to receive a new S-Works helmet, formerly the 2D, along with a hard carrying case.
For more information, contact Specialized toll-free at (877) 808-8154 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Mountain Time Monday through Friday, or visit the company's website.

Tree grows around old bicycle
The Telegraph/JOHN BADMAN
WOOD RIVER -- In a case of extreme overtime parking, crews from the Wood River Public Works Department recently discovered a bicycle that had been leaning against a tree for so long that the tree had grown completely around it.
The old Western Flyer, complete with basket, was found in the back yard of a property the city was clearing in the 500 block of Park Lane.
One theory is that many years ago, the bike was placed in the fork of the tree, which grew to consume the center portion of the bike.
